With the Florida portion of spring training concluded, the Royals broke camp and headed to Kansas City, where they would face the St. Louis Cardinals in two exhibition games before Opening Day on April 8.

A plane carrying 80 or so players, coaches, and front office personnel landed at the downtown airport, and the arrivals were greeted by several members of the Royal Lancers club.
