This Date In Royals History

The Royals’ scheduled home game against Boston was rained out. Hardly surprising, as Municipal Airport in downtown Kansas City received an official total of 7.44 inches of rain. At the time, it was the largest 24-hour rainfall total ever recorded in Kansas City, and the previous record was set in September 1914. The game was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on August 16.
