This Date In Royals History–1977 Edition: March 19

The Royals got back to winning by outslugging the Cincinnati Reds, 10-9, in Tampa.

George Brett had four hits and scored three runs for Kansas City. Clint Hurdle smacked a solo home run, and nine different Royals had at least one RBI. 

Cincinnati’s Joel Youngblood hit a three-run home run to give the Reds a 4-3 lead in the third inning. The Royals tied the score in the fifth and then grabbed control of the game with six runs in the sixth inning, thanks to three hits, two walks, and two errors.

The Royals improved to 6-5 in spring training with the victory.
