This Date In Royals History–1977 Edition: March 21

The Royals pounded the White Sox with 17 hits in a 14-2 laugher in Sarasota. 

Al Cowens had three hits and drove in four runs, while Bob Heise drove in three runs. John Wathan and Buck Martinez each had two RBIs. The Royals scored four runs against Chicago starter Steve Stone in the second inning and kept scoring.

Meanwhile, Kansas City starter Jim Colborn pitched five scoreless innings in his second straight strong outing. On March 17, the righthander, acquired from Milwaukee over the winter, had held Baltimore to one hit in five innings.

Kansas City improved to 8-5 on the spring with the win.
