The Royals enjoyed a day off from spring training games. The news out of camp was bad for pitcher Steve Busby, as the team announced he would start the season on the disabled list. Busby was attempting a comeback from rotator cuff surgery the previous July, although his shoulder issues began near the end of the 1975 season. The Royals planned to have Busby start the season at Class A Daytona Beach as he tried to rebuild his arm strength.
